Pingtest not working?
I am having problems getting pingtest.net to work; I noticed yesterday that I now have five downstream channels and wanted to run a test.
The program gets stuck on the packet loss test which I have had happen before, but have always been able to resolve with an update or reinstall of java and flash. Packets are sent but not retrieved; it seems to crash and move no further than waiting for packets to return.
I have tried resetting and turning off the firewall, updating windows and other programs also resetting internet explorer with no luck. I also tried another computer with same result?

Re: Pingtest not working?
Try again also make sure you are on Java RTE 7 its very likely that they killed RTE 6 with out telling any one.

Re: Pingtest not working?
I've been getting the same thing as well for a few days. I updated my Java installation but it made no difference.

Re: Pingtest not working?
Same fault on a 100Mb connection on both FF13 and IE9, gets as far as sending out the packets then just stops... Worked perfectly a couple of days ago with no java/flsh updates since then (latest java7)
Will be a pingtest website fault

Re: Pingtest not working?
I thought I'd try it. Mine stuck when I let it select the server automatically. It stick on a manually selected local server - MK.
Testing with Manchester and Newbury it suggests I have a Java problem as the packets never got there (but presumably something did and returned or my test couldn't say that).
I manually selected an offshore server and it works. That says to me there cannot be any browser or java problem and it's something to do with the VM network or at least the routes to several pingtest.net servers.

Yup, I've made no changes at this end at all, other than updating my Java to check whether that fixed it.

Re: Pingtest not working?
Pingtest.net is communicating with the java app on the PC and not the router anyway. Whether or nor the router is set to respond makes no difference.

Re: Pingtest not working?
Only the packet loss part of the test uses java, the rest uses flash.

Re: Pingtest not working?
Milton Keynes and Maindenhead both fail after sending the packets, Manchester is unable to count the packets but still gives me ping and jitter, Newbury completes all tests OK..
It's nothing to do with java/flash version or browser but more than likely to be either the routing or the test server network itself..
Can others please try MK, MH, MN and NB and see if it's the same..

Re: Pingtest not working?
Yes! Works on Newbury but the result is disappointing (I always used to get A when the site was working correctly). As yet, I have not found anywhere else that works, though not tried them all.
