Why not? It's easily delete and you can re-watch bits you miss through phone calls or whatever.

And why can you not watch it five, ten minutes or even half-an-hour later?
Not really the best "need" for reminders

clearly it never gonna happen v+ and tivo is two different devices tivo is the future v+ is old tech i work most of time so only catch programs when i get home so most time i record reminders would be pointless to me but it a nice feature to have if gonna be different from V+ version this is new way it gonna happen virgin has at least implemented what ppl wanted don't judge it till u have actually tried it. which will be a while yet

Some of us like to watch it 'Live'
Everyone has different ways of watching TV, we don't all watch it in the same way as you

Re: Reminders are here!
If you watch it live you can't skip the ad breaks though; which is one - if not the - main reasons for owning a DVR If I wanted to watch stuff live I'd have a standard VHD box.

However, you can pause it Carl and then skip the advert breaks. We do that fairly often.

I wont inquire as to what you do with the 4 to 5 minutes that the adds run for

I presume it's all still being rolled out as I haven't had it yet.... but glad they are back.

Then just record it and start watching ten minutes later
And, contrary to what someone seems to think I am not judging anyone's choices. It's called a discussion/debate.

Re: Reminders are here!
Seeing as this is only a pilot perhaps VM could assess feedback (I guess some of the testers will have similar complaints with regards the recording) and fix the issue before it is rolled out to all customers. I quite like the record and remind option, but I would like the option of "change channel at at start"....I have plenty of recordings as it is.
Whilst having to delete a recording is no hardship for me, I, and perhaps many others, pay good money to VM for a service and don't like to be inconvenienced unnecessarily by HAVING to push a few buttons, IF I watch a program live and then have to delete it I object on principle (if I forget the show is on I will be glad its recorded - hence my statement of liking the record and remind option). ITS NOT THE PUSHING OF BUTTONS I object to (it takes no time and minimal effort after all), it's the fact I am paying VM for the privilege of HAVING to do so, when the option could simply be removed.
Yes, I know it's rather a petty point, but i guess its just something I dislike at its very base and would become something I would object to on principle of paying for a service.
TIVO is such a great piece of kit, and this will certainly improve it my eyes -whatever the final decision on how its rolled out

Re: Reminders are here!
I've received a new version this morning, RC4 has upgraded to RC5.
Does anyone know what's new or been fixed in this version?
