Probably not a buffer issue then causing your problem..

Mine's dropped the jitter to about a third of what it was and even during peak times it's only raising slightly

I'm using the defaults for DNS. In router mode it will be the VM ones, in modem mode it's the google ones. I didn't try changing them on a per-system basis, but may give that a whirl later.

Pretty much, I keep doing random tests and they are all coming back with 14-15 ping 0-1 jitter.

I think that's the most important thing. As long as your ping and jitter stay low and constant.

Re: R36 Firmware Beta Test (was R35)

I dont find ping tests jitter test at all reliable or accurate. How do you gauge a proper reading of jitter from a 3 second test?

I use JackDinn's auto speed tester, it has a longer jitter test and uses the BBC server, which is very very reliable.

Went back to router mode and the stalls were evident right away. Setting my desktop to google dns servers didn't make any difference, stalls were still evident.

I don't see the stalls on my iPad though, nor on my wife's. I do see them on both my laptop and desktop (Win 7 64bit).

I have Exactly the same problem, websites seem 2 pause for afew seconds before they load on my laptop, yet it's instant on my iPad.

(sometimes videos don't load either on my laptop yet they do on my iPad)

(I use 145 setting cause 300 doesn't work @ all, I'm using the old firmware)

Re: R36 Firmware Beta Test (was R35)

Can one of the beta testers let me know how to access the private forum?
My spam filter has deleted the email from Mark twice!

No worries, just found it!

Ive made it quite clear on the beta forum that the release needs to be 100% stable at the very least not to tarnish VMs reputation any more
no tell them to hurry up, I am waiting for it

we can live with minor bugs.
