I can get on the site marty, just can't see a download button on any of the torrents. Never used TPB for torrent downloads so it's probably me. I use other trackers

That's the weird part. There are no "buttons" at all. It's just like a Yellow Pages listing but there's nothing to click on to start the download at all! You had better remove that link too!

Maybe their provider's BGP announcements have screwed up.

its weird, the site is down for me too but when i try to connect without a bypass i just get a page error and not the VM page saying its blocked, i'd have thought the block would show whether the site is up or down

I'm on their forum as well. They're saying to wait for a while and everything will be back to normal.

Why would it? Makes no sense for VM to waste resources checking if a site is up or down when it wouldn't give you access to it anyway.

Apparently, it is a DDOS attack.

i'm new to blocks etc, i thought the block was put in on the line so when we request a site the vm server take the request and throws back the block page, not waits for the request to be completed and then blocks it

Re: The Pirate Bay is blocked (Discuss but do not post detail of how to get round it)
i actually found myself using tpb more since it was blocked (mainly for obscure tv shows)
but it looks like some rouge element has been giving tpb a DDoS over the last few hours (looks like its over now) all reverse proxies/normal proxies and vpns are working again

Re: The Pirate Bay is blocked (Discuss but do not post detail of how to get round it)
jempalmer there is a fake tpb site with no links (just adverts) you want the one with the magnet that has GET THIS TORRENT next to it in plaintext caps (they have no torrents anymore just magnet links which are like a decentralised version of a torrent)
