BT Vision signs popular FXUK to build linear offering

Quote:
BT Vision has added a fourth linear channel in a fortnight by signing a contract to stream the hugely popular FX UK.

Hot on the heels of the deal to deliver three UKTV channels – Watch, Gold and Alibi – BT Vision customers will soon be able to watch FX hit shows such as zombie drama The Walking Dead and cult vampire smash True Blood.
Other top rated shows include Falling Skies, produced by Hollywood icon Steven Spielberg, and serial killer series Dexter.

As well as being able to watch all the shows live on FXUK, BT Vision customers will also be able to watch many of the top shows, up to seven days after transmission on-demand. They will also be able to watch library programmes on-demand.
FXUK will launch on BT Vision later in 2012. BT Vision Unlimited subscribers can also look forward to the first two series of The Walking Dead which will be coming on-demand to BT Vision later in the year.

Marc Watson, CEO, BT Vision, said: “We are moving fast to be able to offer our customers a collection of the best TV channels available. We recently announced the very popular UKTV channels and now we are able to confirm we’ll also be offering FXUK, which is a channel our customers have frequently requested.-FX has an outstanding line up of hit shows, many of which are hugely popular with viewers in the UK and the United States. Linear channels take BT Vision to another level and offer customers the chance to catch the shows live or play them on-demand.”

Very interesting. If they incorporate Youview into their Vision packs then they might be able to open up quite alot to their customers.

Re: BT Vision signs popular FXUK to build linear offering

The problem with BT Vision and Virgin Media, they don't offer all the channels available on Sky and means you have to have more than one set top box to view certain channels for example BET is on Freesat but not available on BT Vision,Freeview or Virgin Media. People want all there channels in one place. BT should not have started marketing BT Vision until at least a full channel range as much as Virgin Media's was available and then it could compete much better, but now BT Vision has gained a reputation of being Freeview with added benefits, how do you convince people now? They are gonna have to spend millions advertising the improved product.
