Only 10 minutes in, and Schalke-Bilbao has already provided more entertainment than the whole of Milan-Barca...

That Schalke substitute goalie definitely lacks floatability

Well, I read them all, but ignored the United/City/Chelsea/Arsenal biased ones...
An (admittedly self professed) neutral:

I think he makes a very good point actually.
The gravity of the decisions counts for far more than the number of decisions.
For example, look at the two in the game against Arsenal.....Man U won that game 8-2,.....none of these decisions mattered a jot, and in fact, one of those players went on to be sent off anyway. yet nearly every decision that went for United, they got the point (s) because of it.
Not that I really care, I dont have a preference for eith Manchester club, but this report is a load of cr*p.

That comment says:
'yet nearly every decision that went for United, they got the point (s) because of it.'
How can you prove that? There is no way you can say that correcting the incorrect decisions would change the final outcome of the game because the game would have changed completely. The article just shows that decisions even themselves out over the season.

Strictly speaking, you can't say that (re "the article proves"). Because the only way to prove that the decisions even out, is to prove that each decision has no further consequence.
As someone has said already (I think it was Mal), this is really about getting more decisions right, then trying to hypothesise whether they balance out. Or at least the more obvious decisions. That means goal line technology..but also video refs

I think it safe to assume the final outcome of the match the other night was effected by not awarding a penalty in the last couple of minutes...

Assuming the penalty was scored. Assuming there wasn't another goal after the penalty. Lot of assumptions.

It was right near the end, yes it's an assumption that they would have scored the penalty but that doesn't mean United didn't benefit from it.

Don't think I claimed otherwise. Is it likely that the penalty would have been scored and the game finished as a draw - yes - but let’s just not pretend it was guaranteed.
