But it's not. Stable isn't a condition on its own. So you can be in a critical condition and also be stable.
In fact in the states doctors have been advised to stop using stable to when describing a persons conditon due to the confusion it causes.

Well I'm only going on my experiences when an uncle of mine was on life support after an accident and was described by doctors as being stable.
He pulled through lets hope Fabrice can do the same.

Yes when l was in intensive care 11 years ago but they told my family that l was critically ill but stable but l have to admit it is a bit confusing sometimes as you think by being stable means that someone is out of the woods but that is quite clearly not the case.
Anyway lets just hope and pray that Fabrice comes through this.

Re: Football Season 2011/12
I think it comes from the premise..if you are not getting worse (ie are stable) you are more likely to be in a state to get better

The latest update from the London Chest Hospital is that Bolton footballer Fabrice Muamba is anaesthetised in intensive care and remains critically ill.

Shocking...
Quote:
South Wales Police say a man, aged 21, has been arrested in connection with racially offensive comments made on the social network site Twitter.
It is understood to follow complaints about comments made following the collapse of Bolton footballer Fabrice Muamba during a FA Cup tie on Saturday.
Police said a man from Pontypridd is being held at Swansea police station.
