That's because Netflix have only just arrived in the UK. The American audience have a much greater range of material.

Netflix will come into its own if the Competition have the guts to ban exclusivity deals, the type of which allow companies like Sky to hog the programmes and films for their own channels and then don't allow other providers a look in. That has got to stop, sooner or later. Let's hope it is a key Competition Commission ruling.

Lovefilm has more, but personally, I think the content is better on Netflix.

But it's when it comes to picture quality, that Netflix wins hands down. I could put up with the Lovefilm quality streaming as I didn't use it much (there was no other legal subscription based alternative), but seeing how good Netflix is in comparison, I try to avoid Lovefilm streaming. I joined Lovefilm for Bluerays through the post, so no biggie that the streaming quality isn't that good.

I can't comment on the quality of the streaming from Netflix and Lovefilm as I've seen neither but that is a very important point. From my (admittedly) quick look at the content of the two offerings it seemed to me that Netflix offered predominantly American content while Lovefilm seemed to have a fair sprinkling of UK and European content. Personally, I'd be more interested in the latter - providing, of course, the streaming quality was good. I'll be interested to see how this one develops.

I would look forward to these being available through Tivo, but when it say's they are in talks with Virgin, i hope it won't take as long to sign an agreement as it takes Virgin so long to agree new channels.

I would like Netflix and Lovefilm on VM sooner rather than later, it would improve the Virgin TV service!
