Leeds United have sacked manager Simon Grayson after three years in charge at Elland Road.
Youth team boss Neil Redfearn has been placed in temporary control of first-team affairs.
The former Leeds trainee's final match as United boss saw the club slump to a 4-1 defeat at home to promotion rivals Birmingham City .
Former Sheffield United and Queens Park Rangers boss Neil Warnock has been linked with the post.
Tuesday's defeat by Birmingham leaves Leeds in 10th place in the Championship, three points off the play-offs.
Grayson left Blackpool to take over at Elland Road in December 2008 following the sacking of Gary McAllister .

Re: Football Season 2011/12
Will the FA please wake up for heavens sake. Hoilett's dive against Newcastle was absolutely pathetic and should be punished as with many others as this is way way past a joke now. Plain disgusting cheating is taking over this league.

Seems Racism just wont go away this year.
Shola Ameobi has been subject to racial abuse months after brother Sammy was too.
Ever since the cases of Suarez and Terry this is happening more and more as if its acceptable.

Well it's always been something of a problem, perhaps not to the same extent as some countries in Eastern Europe which have no real concept of ethnic integration. Just that the FA are now using the issue as a political tool against their enemy FIFA (Blatter inparticular).
Remember that the issue of racially motivated abuse was previously dismissed as something which could be sorted out with a mere apology by the PFA mouthpiece, idiot and hypocrite Gordon Taylor

The Football Association is set to remove the England captaincy from John Terry, with an announcement before the weekend, the BBC has learned.
FA chairman David Bernstein has spoken to board members and the majority view is Terry should be stood down. He would still be available for selection.
It would be the second time Terry has been stripped of the captaincy.

I don't see the big deal in stripping his captaincy. I actually think they should have gone further and not let him play for England.
If I am suspected of misconduct in my job I would be suspended on full pay pending an investigation - probably the same in a lot of workin environments.
The England captain (and in fact playign for England) is a role that has an associated responsibility. To be honest given Terry's past history of doing silly things I would have taken the captaincy away from him a lot sooner.
I also donot understand why a high profile case is being defered till the summer.
