Song was considered a flop written off by many until he turned good. Koscielny has absolutely panned early last season. Sagna as well. Sometimes the faith pays off and we get a good player. You need to gave them playing time.

This season he brought in Arteta who has been good, Mertesacker who has been good, Chamberlain and Jenkinson who have also been promising. His youth policy, i.e having faith, has seen Coquelin and Frimpong show promise as well. If Wenger has listened to all the complainers we would have Schwarzer in goal instead of Szczesny. Another incidence were Arsenal fans were spitting blood at Wenger's faith but one that was a brilliant decision.

miracles? have you seen the wage bill, some of the salaries flops are on? thats nothing sort of stupidity. as for signings, he has funds.. the board are not eating away all of it.. Wengers just trying to be too smart and its going to backfire big time soon, he's already had warnings.

The wage bill is around the 4th/5th biggest in the league and that is where we typically end up. However it's done with minimum transfer fees. That is an achievement. We have some money but nothing like that of United, City and Chelsea, Arsenal made a small profit last year.

It's not going to change. We can no longer compete for the title, not until FFP comes in at the very least. Get used to it.

I remember because I backed Song and Kosh on Arsenal Land while everyone was either saying loan Song out when he was peaking good form and dubbing Kosh a flop when you could blatantly see him fighting for the cause. Indeed faith does pay off but what about the long list that are ego inflated fools?

Agree, Arteta has added alot including us looking a lot more solid in the middle of the park. Merts getting there but you can tell he's a Lidl purchase too. Oxo cubes raw quality agree. His faith is paying off but those who show raw quality deserve it, not those who can neither put it down or learn from mistakes. the goalkeeper coming through was a good one but also remember he put in a big money bid in for Reina

overall its good but look closer ignoring the rest of the clubs, look at Arsenal only and you'll see a lot being wasted. those fund could be spent paying someone worth while that can actually make a difference for us whether it be fit or able to do sometihng with the football.

we can challenge, fair play doesn't need to be used as some scapegoat, in fact it can't be with millions of players out there able to do a much better job than some of our current lot which are in reality, deadwood.

Only allowed to register 25 players over 21, IIRC Arsenal didn't even have 25 players over 21 to register last season.

wrong, your allowed to register any player. you can however opt to leave out those under 21 that are home grown/been with the club for an x amount of years. not sure how long the minimum is though.

Happy would be an understatement

Easily the Swans' biggest result in 30 years. Didn't see any of the game on tv as I was travelling but I'll be happy with the score. My only concern is Vorm, easily our player of the season so far is likely to be snapped up by a bigger club soon and we'll end up bottom 3 next year.

Still, I assume the match made the day of a certain anti Welsh CF member who supports Arsenal but hasn't been seen in a football thread since the glory days ended in 2005

Chelsea have completed the signing of central defender Gary Cahill from Bolton for a fee of around £7m.

Cahill, 26, passed a medical on Saturday, before attending Chelsea's 1-0 Premier League win over Sunderland at Stamford Bridge.

"Chelsea is a massive club that looks to win trophies season in, season out," the England defender said.

"It is a big opportunity for me to be a part of that. Opportunities like this, you can't turn down."

Chelsea and Bolton agreed the fee at the end of last month, but Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas revealed club and player were "miles apart" over personal terms.

ITV has agreed a new two-year deal with The Football Association for the broadcast rights to the pick of The FA Cup and England internationals, including home qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup, from the 2012-13 to 2013-14 seasons.

As part of the new agreement with The FA, ITV1 will continue to broadcast the first pick of FA Cup games throughout the season from the First Round to The Final; as well as the third choice game pick in the Fifth and Sixth Rounds and the fourth choice pick in the Third and Fourth Rounds. ITV1 will also have first choice of replays from the Third to Sixth Rounds. In total, ITV will broadcast up to 16 live games across each season in addition to comprehensive highlights from every round.

ITV will also continue to be the free-to-air home of England internationals including all home qualifying games for the FIFA 2014 World Cup and all home and away friendlies during the two year period. Away qualifiers are sold by opposition associations and therefore do not fall under this FA agreement.

The football season’s traditional curtain raiser, The FA Community Shield, will also return to free-to-air television in 2012 and 2013 under the new deal. ITV will also extend its commitment with The FA across the two seasons to encompass live coverage of six games from The FA Youth Cup on ITV4, including the Semi-Finals and Final of the competition.

From what I heard Barry and Lescott played well, I'd be far more concerned about Savic.

Savic was poor previous game...but no worse last night.

But, Barry just makes an average player look good.
