Lame. I bet they only want to run their own speedtests so they can avoid blame when they've provided too little backhaul or peering capacity and external speedtests show how crap the VM service is as a result.

Here's two consecutive results from speedtest magnet:
Download Speed: 104454 kbps (13056.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 9454 kbps (1181.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Download Speed: 104315 kbps (13039.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 9586 kbps (1198.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Then my usual test server.
Seems pretty comparable to me.

Here's my result using the MAGNET NETWORKS speedtest (couldnt get a pic!)
I'm on 100Mbit:
Last Result:
Download Speed: 32663 kbps (4082.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 9624 kbps (1203 KB/sec transfer rate)
If i go on any speedtest site I never get past 45Mbit!!!!

Those VM speedtests seem to provide full whack for the first 2 seconds and then drop off considerably. I wonder if they have STM'd their own servers? :p
