Re: Virgin Media signs BBC sports coverage deal

I'm pretty sure a very similar service with the same content will be made available via Youview which launches in a couple of months. There is nothing to suggest this is exclusive to Virgin, and seeing BBC are one of the drivers and content providers of Youview it's almost a guarantee a similar service will be rolled out on Youview.

Yes i agree. The good news is Tivo will have 24 live streams.

Do Sky only have 5 live streams ?

Why It is one of the greatest sporting events for a generation to happen in this country and people have to miss out? I was a Athlete when I was younger for a club in Barnsley and when we traveled we were glad for the people that came and saw us. If it was televised we would have wanted it to go out to the widest audience.

Re: Virgin Media signs BBC sports coverage deal

The BBC News app has been on my Sammy TV for months now. So, not exclusive.

Re: Virgin Media signs BBC sports coverage deal

Its BBC so they're essentially not allowed to do exclusives, as it should be considering everyone pays £100+ a year for it.

That is a very good point.

Yes you are quite correct as they will always be some non converters until they are forced to get one in about 5 years.

Re: Virgin Media signs BBC sports coverage deal

Excellent news from VM well done.

I am quite willing to convert to TiVo once the features i would like are up and running ie the ones i can now use on my V+ , the £3 is not really an issue with me just the fuctionality.

And now that functionality is only weeks or months away Richard and once you get a Tivo you will not regret it.

Re: Virgin Media signs BBC sports coverage deal

Am I the only one that has thought this that the red button will become almost redundant? So for all of those that were asking when it will come will now be angry as it would take you to a choice of apps?

It will probably have a BBC bridge if you press red on a BBC Channel.

Both the BBC News and BBC Sport apps will be available to TiVo subscribers via the red button on their remote controls or the platform’s apps and games menu.
