Speaking too a guy in the sauna the other day about broadband suppliers, with me gloating about my 100Mb, he announced that he was leaving Openreach because of unreliable connections and dodgy customer service.
One particular anecdote sticks in my mind. He had rung CS with a fault. They gave him an engineer slot. 30 minutes before the engineer arrived the fault cleared. The engineer arrived and announced, after a few minutes, that there was no fault. A charge was made for an unnecessary call out. Lo and behold another guy in the sauna said that had happened to him and a mate at work.
The general grumbles about BT and Openreach suggested a very unhappy set of customers. We see a lot of moans here, but have we really got an alternative? I wouldn't mind their low pings and line quality though.
I had a look at the Openreach FTTC rollout programme just to see if I could have the pleasure of turning them down. The Cheylesmore exchange isn't on their plans, I guess because our area is taken up by VM already.
