Re: Virgin Media to sponsor Britain's Got Talent

Why should it be?

Although I'm personally not a fan of BGT, lots of people are, and the point of any advertising is to get lots of people to see your brand

Also the ITV VOD advertising deal with Virgin Media early next year

I am just saying that it seems like ITV are on very good terms with Virgin Media.

They can pay for sponsorship. They can surely pay for the ITV HD channels.

That's not how businesses work though. There are different pots of money for advertising and sponorship and acquisitions

And anyway, how do you know that they aren't working towards getting the ITV HD channels? Just because it's not on the internet, doesn't mean nothing is going on

Re: Virgin Media to sponsor Britain's Got Talent

I think this sponsorship deal is the first sensible piece of advertising that VM has done. VM should drop all nonsense like "tickles" and concentrate their firepower on what gets them the widest exposure and in this case, they have.

Good move by Vm, for a change!

It was very good the first few years but if Its anything to go by last year then I wont be bothering with it. It was brutal to say the least and cant even remember who the winner was.

Surely thats the point of BGT and other types of these shows a few years down the road nobody remembers who won !!!!!!!!!! and the "fans" ie the voting public do not buy the albums year after year or concert tickets, like real music fans.

Having said that i get a feeling VM are buying into a fading brand true one that still gets a fair few viewers but its sliding fast.

Not my type of show by half.

Yes l can understand why companies want to sponsor these shows but as far as l am concerned as soon as it comes on the remote control switches to another channel or l twaddle off to the other room and let my partner watch it o her own.

Have you noticed denphone its mainly all women that like BGT tat.!

Blokes at work tell me they watch it but only "because their partners do"and they do not want to upset them.

It amazes me that some men are afraid to say boo to a goose when it comes to saying something to their partner as my partner would think there would be something wrong if l did not speak my mind but l suppose we are all different at the end of the day and l suppose some men just want to have a quiet time at the end of the day after a hard days work.

I have to say I buy Leona Lewis albums all the time and still remember her for all the right reasons on X Factor. She was the only true winner in all the years of X Factor and is still doing very well.
