Re: Football Season 2011/12
We need another Cantona to provide the magical spark and another Keane to be the 300bhp midfield engine.
I've never hidden my disdain for Donkey, SAF's biggest waste of money since Veron. He could be sold off for £5m which will help with transfer funds slightly. Rooney is too inconsistent, he has barren spells too often but at least he gives 100% each time unlike Donkey.
Hernandez hasn't had the same impact as last season but being 23 he's got time on his side.
So yes we need a deadly goalscorer, something we haven't had since Ronnie left.

Yes l have to agree with your many points you have made as yes Rooney is inconsistent and although Hernandez has great talent but he is still young and yes our team could also do with a Cantona and Keane as well but these type of players are rare in their availability and when they do become available they are likely to be snapped up by the moneybags clubs.

Re: Football Season 2011/12
We don't need a striker. Rooney, Hernandez, Welbeck and Berbatov are plenty good enough and then we have others in reserve. At the moment all we really need is a central midfielder. Anything else will wait until the summer.

But the problem will be buying a quality midfielder in the transfer window in january and l also feel you could be underestimating the loss of Vidic for the rest of the the season and for these two reasons at the end of the season will probably be the difference between winning the title and finishing second.

Rooney - great player when played up front behind someone else. Too often he has been played in midfield or on the wing.
hernandez - 6 yard goal hanger who offers little with link up play or outside the box.
Welbeck - Never good enough in a million years. Looks ok at United as we create more chancesthan lower league teams
Berbatov - Never been given a chance and never seems to perfor when Fergie plays him

The injury means Spain are likely to be without their leading striker for the defence of their title at Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine. The 30-year-old is Spain's all-time top scorer with 50 goals in 81 appearances.

He will be a key loss for Spain and Barcelona in their forthcoming campaigns next year.

Re: Football Season 2011/12
Yes Donovan done well in his last stay there and Balotelli well we know what he can do on the pitch but here he is again making headlines off the pitch and there is only so much the manager will tolerate in the end before he gives him his marching orders.

Agree with all that. We haven't had a killer striker since Ronnie. A club of our stature should have a complete forward that other teams fear and this has been lacking for a number of years. When he's on form and in the right position Rooney can knock them in for fun but we can't rely on his inconsistency.
