Editing HD and SD channels
Is there away to replace my SD channels with the HD ones on my planner EG BBC1 with BBC1 HD ITV with ITV HD?
Rather then having to scroll to them?
Hope this makes sense?
TIA

Only if you set it up in favourites and do it that way.

Already done that. Why does it default to SD when I now have a HD box!
Just a little fidderly when it should be defaulted to HD rather then SD

The guide switches back from the selected setting (HD for example) to the full list after a set time (maybe an hour or so, not quite sure). I suspect this is so VM can ensure that you get to see all the lovely channels you are subscribed too, rather than just the ones you are specifically interested in, so they can tell all the content providers that their wonderful channels will be made easily available.

Could be done with Discovery or Nat Geo, but BBC1 & ITV have regional variants that are not carried in HD. Would be very frustrating pressing 101 when the local news is on, finding a blank screen and having to remember where the SD version is. Also Eurosport HD can carry programmmes from either of the SD channels, or even totally separate content from British Eurosport.

Fair point but i remember having this frustration with the V+ box I had and hoped it would have been resolved with tivo but not the case!!
Having said what you said rather switch channels just for local news then having to do it everytime to watch normal TV
HD channels should in this day be set as default postions as all TV are HD now!
its like BBC2 HD why so far away!! Takes an age to scroll there

It is called BBC HD. Why Do you need to scroll ? When you can Press 187 when on the Mini Guide and TV Guide.
BBC Two HD will replace BBC HD in 2012.
BBC Two HD will have no local news.
There will only be local news on BBC One HD in Scotland , Northern Ireland and Wales in 2012.

In my case it makes me less likely to use the EPG and more likely to watch series links that have recorded, so it's completely backfired!
Seriously, that needs to be fixed. I'm happy with the M+ package, I don't want to keep having to select My Favourites to hide all the greyed-out channels I neither have nor want and all the crappy home-shopping chintz.

Such a biased view. I know plenty of people who are happy with their old CRTs and don't plan to upgrade yet. And who can blame them... I love my LCD TV and it's crisp 1080p picture, but the colours aren't as vivid as with a nice old CRT properly configured.
Little hint mate... you don't need to set font and colour options for every paragraph. It just needlessly adds excessive tags to your posts.

Just enter the channel number. It's only three digits. Also, there's BBC HD and BBC ONE HD. There isn't currently a BBC TWO HD, although (sensibly) there might be one next year to replace BBC HD.
