To the OP: what do you mean when it's connected via Coaxial to your amp? What lead is it?

I meant I was talking nonsense, sorry. Both the V+HD and the Tivo were connected via Optical cable to the A/V amp, but HDMI direct to TV. Most of our viewing is TV audio only, amp only really gets turned on for BR discs. Whether listening via the TV speakers or through the amp into the surround kit, there is significant delay on all the HD channels. Didn't do it with the V+ box, does it with Tivo. Unless things improve, it will go back in the New Year and we'll stick to the V+HD box until VM iron out the problem.

Is it only 5.1 that has the problem or is it all audio? There isn't a general fault with 5.1 audio on TiVo.
Is there anything on your amp you can change? Any delay setting etc?

Don't listen via the amp as a rule. Pretty much all TV viewing done with sound from the TV speakers only, so 5.1 not an issue here. Absolutely identical set-up with the V+HD box that preceded the Tivo, but with no sync issues whatsoever. I'd say that narrows things down to an issue with the Tivo box, but I'm no expert!!

Ok, might have faulty TiVo there then. Would suggest a call to TiVo faults, unless Spiderplant can advise further?

Well... you could try changing the Dolby setting on the TiVo (maybe your V+ had the opposite setting). And make sure you don't have Audio Description turned on.
Which is ahead - the audio or video?

Got my TiVO connected to Yamaha av receiver via HDMI no lip sync issues. Yamaha sets the lip sync delay in the auto set up with the mic.
