It was a pretty good documentary.

Does anyone know if the uk took part in the EU reform mentioned?

So this documentary was only on bbc4 and not mainstream?
It was shown on BBC2 last Wednesday at 9pm.

I have emailed the bbc asking why it wasnt prime time on bbc1 as its far higher quality than the rubbish panaroma dribbles out.

Perhaps they thought the sudience for such a programme would be very small - everyone out there far too busy watching the likes of Corrie and the X-Factor or rushing around the shops making themselves feel better by spending money they don't have.

I wish there were more programmes like this but in my experience many people can't be bothered to watch them.

Re: Fascinating Programme On Financial Meltdown

9pm is prime time, but IMO the programme was properly matched to the schedule and likely audience if it was shown on BBC 2.

It's not as if they hid it away where nobody could find it.

It would still be big, bbc could put on a picture of a tree for an hour and it still would probably get millions of viewers. I have watched some complete rubbish on bbc peak time (when round other peoples houses and they put the channel on) and they still get high viewing figures, it gets watched simply because its the bbc.

'Watching' something on TV and taking it all in are very different things, especially when the topic is issues as complex as these and the news is all bad. I doubt those who indulged themselves so much during the credit boom would be very motivated to discover or acknowledge the role they played in what's gone wrong.
