I agree i dot think there is no need for GOLD HD. YEs more HD channels would be greate but why create a HD channel where only about 5-10% of it will be actaull HD. Seems a waste of bandwith and that could be used for better HD channels

ESPN have lauched a news video app on TiVo. It can be accessed by pressing 'Red' on ESPN SD

Do HD channels use the same amount of bandwidth, even when they aren't broadcasting in HD

HD channels always broadcast in HD.
If the show isn't a HD show it is upscaled as being shown on a HD channel.

My Insider has now confirmed that CBS Action is the only channel joining Virgin TV next week.
