Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
No search and no shuffle!
Do the people who designed it use a music streaming service?
I have a freebie account that I would have upgraded to Premium for a while to check it out on Tivo, but lack of the above, puts me off.
Have they got the 'Artist Radio' function on Tivo?

Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
The lack of a search function on pretty much any app that uses a database is unforgivable. It's a fundamental feature, and if you leave it out you obviously flunked several classes on how to be a software developer.

Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
Just has 'Whats New' and your playlists. Basic but nice to play it via the TV.
Tip:
If your user name has an underscore character in it, like mine, then you can't log in using the Tivo remote as the '0_' button toggles between '0' and space. I thought I was doomed but then the Tivo Commander app came to the rescue with its keyboard input that had the necessary character.

The symbols are on the '1' button on the TiVo remote, not the '0'

Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
Much easier to navigate this with a USB keyboard. Especially for weird character access on user/pass combos.

You can try for a month and downgrade if you want, even to the Free one. You can only use the VM TiVo Spotify App with the Premium one though.

Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
Thanks, i filled the VM forum online to upgrade from XL (20mb) to XL (30mb) which is required and pay £30 for the new router.
I was told an email and letter would be sent to confirm prices changes. And was pleasantly surprised to find a £1.50 reduction pm.
So a 10mb upgrade, spotify for 6mnths all for £30 and £1.50 less pm month!

Re: Spotify launch tomorrow
Sadly you do get the Super Hub though, and that has been derided quite a lot since release, more so than the TiVo. Some people were rebooting theirs several times a day in order to keep a working internet connection... maybe they've fixed all that now but I very much doubt it!

The superhub now has modem mode so can connect your own router now.

That feature finally made it out of beta, eh? Took 'em long enough.
It's still awful as a router though. Makes you wonder why VM bothered.
