I got an email back from Vigin last week saying it was an IT issue and would take 2 weeks to fix! (I've already waited 3 weeks) I said if others can get it straight away then it can't be such a difficult IT issue to fix and they should be able to do something almost immediately. Plus I had to drop down to free Spotify before I could register so I was going to get another 2 weeks of Spotify with ads.

Anyway just this morning I have an email saying I can now register so looks like that saga is over. Thanks for your offer to help.

One further saga to conclude which is the Super Hub issue that I fear is set to run. An engineer is coming tomorrow so I'm not letting him leave until I'm satisfied!

Re: Opinions of Spotify offer ?

They told me 2 weeks on the phone and the email stated a few weeks so that implies at least 2. To quote from the email:

"I am sorry that you are having problems with Spotify and for any inconvenience this has caused.

We have raised this with IT to get resolved and this should be sorted within the next few weeks."

It does seem to be not much of an offer. That's a deal worth 30 quid, for which you have to sign up for another 12 month contract on their top tier.

But if you want spotify Premium to use on phones and Tivo as well as a PC, it saves you 60 pounds.

If you are happy with VM, you're getting £60 worth of extra just to do what you planned to do anyway ..

30Mb isn't the top tier either ..

I originally started with a mail enquiry but after 3 frustrating replies that basically told me to do what I already knew I ended up calling (reluctantly as I didn't have the time). On the phone they raised a fault and simultaneously I sent another mail because I stopped getting replies, probably because I was turning into an awkward customer. I got a reply from a different person who was more helpful, telling me it would be a few weeks and offered some money back.

The Spotify registration went well and all is working on that front. So I am a happy Spotify customer again.

The engineer came this evening to see why my 100mbit is so bad. He took the attenuator off and replaced some rusty connections outside the house. However the performance is still very bad. His conclusion is that it a network issue. He explained that problems in the Guildford area, that lead onto Farnborough, mean that some fixes need to be done in my local street cabinets in the next 7 days. I don't really understand but I believed him. What else can they do.

Re: Opinions of Spotify offer ?

I currently have XL Broadband, but stated as 20mb, I'd need 30mb to get this service. Should I be entitled to move up to 30mb as I'm stated as an XL customer?
