Hello guys,
I wonder if you could help me with this one.
I have A LG Plasma tele that takes a USB Hard drive / Pen Drive..
I currently have a WD Hard drive wired to the tele but transfering stuff all the time from the LAPTOP to the hard drive is bugging me as i need to WIRE the laptop to do so..
What i was planning on doing was getting rid of the PC so that its no longer plugged into the tele and using the laptop for downloading stuff and transferring to an external drive (which would also be plugged into the TV) via the network.
So basically what i am looking for is a NETWORK STORAGE DRIVE that will plug into the Router VIA ENET whilst also plugged into the TELE at the same time to allow the tele to detect it as like a normal USB Drive
ROUTER VIA ENET TO EXT DRIVE
EXT DRIVE TO TELE VIA USB
(Tele has a media player built in and it works a treat hence not having the pc fired up 24/7 and having a 700 watt psu on the go constantly) and if i download anything i could transfer it through the network to the external drive then play it through the tele which is wired by USB.
Is this a possible function as NONE of the NETWORK STORAGE DEVICES i have read up on say it can also be plugged into a PC/Laptop/TV via USB whilst functioning on a network.
Any input into this would be much appreciated..
If i have confused anyone .. im basically looking for a Network storage drive that can be WIRED to a PC at Via USB and be SEEN as a normal External drive when plugged in VIA USB
The problem is ALL NAS Devices say the USB ports are for ADDITIONAL STORAGE
im trying to clarify what I'm looking for ... i think I've confused myself a bit. I don't know if I'm looking for a CADDY with an ENET port on it.. or if im looking for a NAS Device. If someone can clear up what I'm looking for it would be awesome.
something like this.. if you get me:
