Sarkozy & Obama have a 'Brown' moment
Quote:
French President Nicolas Sarkozy called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a "liar" in remarks to US President Barack Obama overheard by journalists.
"I can't see him anymore, he's a liar," Mr Sarkozy said in French.
"You may be sick of him, but me, I have to deal with him every day," Mr Obama replied.

Re: Sarkozy & Obama have a 'Brown' moment
I think it just shows the pair of them up for what they are political lightweights to be caught so easily and to even make such comments in a place that was less then secure for conversations like this is just ridiculous. Obama has a habit of getting caught saying things he would do best keeping to himself and although it rarely ever gets reported over here an american friend says it has been reported over there quite often.
Sarkozy is one politician i cannot stand even by the usual political standard which is anything but high, he appears very ego driven and ignorant. Still at least for today if no other time people can see for themselves what this pair are like when they think they are safe.

That's what a lot of people are like then they think they are safe, in private I doubt any world leaders are as diplomatic as they are in public.

Excellent, people speaking the truth.
I'm sure the Israelis can murder someone in retaliation.

Re: Sarkozy & Obama have a 'Brown' moment
Oh trust me Damien they are all as two faced as the day is long but getting caught so easily at a summit shows serious lack of either judgement or common sense and more then likely a bit of both. At summits there are secured rooms for private conversations of this sort and i highly doubt they were more then five minutes from one.
That said obama seems intent on putting wedges between the US and some of it's older allies. Both he and Sarkozy seem to be more driven at times by their personal bias and agendas then by what is right for the states they are elected to represent.
While i am also certain they are not alone in that others are a lot better at disguising it.

Well Obama didn't do anything, it was Sarkozy who made the comment.
Who cares really? It was a mistake and not meant for public consumption. We have to the mature enough to accept that politicians won't talk openly about other world leaders and have to engage in diplomacy.

Sorry, I was expecting a whole other type of thread.
Now, that would have been news!

Given what's going in Euro-La-La-Land I dare say there may be a few more 'brown' (as opposed to ' Brown') moments on the way for our glorious leaders..
