No App is there yet but it should not be far away.

I could virgin teasing tivo users by putting a app for spotify in place then when you click on it saying coming soon.

I'm intrigued to see whether VM put apps such as Netflix and Lovefilm on TIVO as they'll be in direct competition with Movies OD , and before a certain person starts quoting , I know what Cindy Rose said but the proof will be in the pudding.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
If we do get Netflix, I hope they stream in 5.1 audio; lack of that from Lovefilm is a big minus point for me.

Not strictly true! As I type this reply on my iPad I am listening to Spotify on my tv and the sound through my surround sound system. All I have to do is stream Spotify through my Apple TV box using my iPad.

Or hook your laptop up to a TV and audio system. But I understand what Gavin-D meant and the point he was making.

Ben is this true ?
Quote:
This has now been sorted.
There had been some confusion with the billing. Apparently, because we have two 1TB boxes already and had requested a third 500GB this where the extra charges came in. The £3 charge only applies per box if you have different size boxes. So, 3 1TB boxes would incur one £3 fee but a mixture of sizes causes an amount per size, therefore £6. At the time of order it seems that the £6.50 multiroom was being waved. At the time of order, the total cost should have been £114.46 or if I had gone for a 1TB box it would have been £111.46. However, I have saved on the install/activation cost anyway as a 1TB box for our son's room is a bit extreme.
Anyway, they have honoured their original quote of £111.46 so I am happy. Things like this happen, although they shouldn't, but VM always seem to get it right when they have made a mistake which is good.
The only thing they haven't done now is activate the 6 months free Spotify after upgrading to 100mb. I think I shall leave that for now!

Also another Spotify blunder.

The way I used to do it was have my WHS connected to my amp and then use a remote desktop on my iPad to control it, don't need to any more.

Also the bit about getting charged different amounts for different TiVo boxes is incorrect. The TiVo service cost applies to both size of boxes exactly the same.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
I have noticed the 3 min on demand pause will be extended to 10 mins in the 15.2 update.

The 15.2 update increases the time to 10 mins with 5 min skip bars instead of 10 or 15 like it used to be

Because the 15.2 update needs to be rolled out first

It needs the 15.2 update.

We are able to push an app launch after the firmware update later this month, and before the change freeze. As we've said in our update announcement, the firmware update supports us to launch Red Button services as well as Spotify services. So we're working as hard as we can with our partners to get these great services out as soon as possible. Everything else will come in the new year.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
just had the Tivo installed and have to say i think its brilliant.
Little tweeks maybe neeeded here and there but an absolutely superb piece of kit IMO.
It replaced a 10 year old? V box and i was currently using a sky+HD - which it makes look like something decrepit and badly dated.
the whole concept is just different class.
i was concerned by some of the criticisms but really take the plunge.
a clutch of missing HD channels? is that really sky's whip hand now?
