Re: thinking of joining Virgin
If you live within 10 miles of Brighton, don't bother atm. Absolutely crap. I can't even watch Sky sports Via Sky Go. This has been going on for 6 days, and Support says there's nothing wrong.

Re: thinking of joining Virgin
30+ is all new, anything below 30 is outdated soon hopefully to be removed. you get the future proof SuperHub which functions ok, you can add your own router if the SuperHub doesn't meet your needs.

Re: thinking of joining Virgin
What is the price difference between the 10 and the 30 these days?
Even considering the pathetically small price difference, for what you have described, 10 wouldn't be enough anyway.
One thing to be aware of, if you are seriously considering 10mbit, is that it is managed to hell and back. You even sneeze at it and you get your speed cut to 1/4 of what it is normally. Yes, the 30mbit also has managment on it, but the trigger levels are much higher.
** Management: If you download or upload more than a set amount of data, you get your speed reduced for a period of 5 hours as a punishment. While VM don't define it as a punishment, it is in effect, a punishment.
** Trigger level: The amount you are allowed to download and upload before triggering the managment system (known as STM - Subscriber Traffic Managment). This level is governed by what package you are on. 10mbit having the lowest trigger level of all their current packages.
