Re: Getting a re-pull
When virgin media com to do the re pull wil they do it extacly like everything was done before.
I mean for example:
where all cable wires installed inside the house
Outside the house where the box is
Outside the house where the cable is dug under grass

Re: Getting a re-pull
It is unlikely they need to disturb anything inside the house. A repull is the cable from the street cabinet to the box on the outside of your house.
In most cases they can use the existing ducting hose already laid under your garden. Sometimes that has deteriorated and has to be renewed in which case they would need to dig a slit in the garden for a renewed duct, same as if it were a completely new install.
There seems to be a lot of unnecessary fuss here. If the techs have decided there is a need for a repull, get it done. Services may be working now, but are probably on the edge of a precipice and you don't want them to fail at a critical time because you were faffing around and not wanting it to happen.

Re: Getting a re-pull
So is there a charge if they deem it necessary to treat it like its a new install due to damage to the existing duct?

No charge, and it is not treated like a new install, it is a repair and as long as the damage isn't done my the customer then it is all free.

Re: Getting a re-pull
There is no cable work inside the house for a repull, but an engineer will check your power levels from your modem inside the house and adjust when the work is completed.

Re: Getting a re-pull
wazz. you do not need to do anything. The only cable being re-pulled is the one outside of your house.
If the engineer needs anything disconnected inside your home he will do it himself, in fact your doing so could hinder him. Just let him get on with his job, and if you really feel the need to do something just put the kettle on and offer him a brew.
