Re: Football Season 2011/12
No it doesn't. Gary Cahill is overrated IMO. Samba might be a better buy or there are some decent French center backs in Ligue 1. Although Sarko plays for PSG so won't get him...

Re: Football Season 2011/12
If Wenger was adamant he doesn't want Cahill he would of said no straight up. If its top quality we really want then a look at the German bundesliga will prove worth while.
Sakho, yeah long shot plus Wenger, a PSG supporter wont take one of their best players, sucks but we have to deal with it.

He isn't a PSG supporter and even if he was that wouldn't stop him from getting a player he desires. We won't get Sakho because PSG are very, very rich now and are not going to sell one of their required players.

Re: Football Season 2011/12
you sure? i'm sure hes a PSG fan. wenger could have signed him a few season ago but declined to spend money, Sakho got annoyed and pledged his future to PSG. and yeah, no chance now.

Isn't that where Arsenal got Deerstalker or whatever he is called from, totally out of his depth in the Premier League IMHO.

A foreign player no matter his age needs time to adapt to the rigours of the Premiership so Arsene's signings need a little time to cope with it.

Re: Football Season 2011/12
So a chat with a stoke fan led to.. Were only one point behind you and still battling for that Champions League spot. I reminded him that the Premierleague lasts 38 games. Anyway 5 games down and 4 teams still waiting to taste defeat although two of them look unstoppable.
Manchester City
Manchester United
The other two undefeated teams thus far
Newcastle United
Aston Villa
How I'd love to see the league table like that after 38 games. Newcastle Midfield is top quality but the lack of real strikers makes you wonder if it can actually get better than this..
As for City and Manchester United.. well put it this way Barcelona looked good last year but I honestly think they would receive a good hammering off either of these two at the minute. Rooney has really hit some form this time round and Nani is looking brilliant too.

Re: Football Season 2011/12
Although I'd love to be proven wrong on this, I reckon United with lose before City. I'm still not convinced United are the side people seem to be making them out as. Our defence is a slight concern and of course De Gea has yet to adjust to the game and can't yet be considered reliable. Yes we've had a good start but I'd say it's more a mixture of luck, lower-end opponents, and playing Arsenal.
Rooney is obviously on fire but what if he takes an injury? Wellbeck is still learning, Hernandez is making a slow start, Owen can't be relied upon to score regular goals at top premiership level and Berbatov is Berbatov.
