V+ HD Box dropping HDMI signal

We have 2 x samsung v+ boxes, one downstairs on a Sharp 37" HD TV and the other upstairs on a Hanspree 32" HD TV, with the one downstairs for a long time now we have had problems with the signal dropping out every once i a while and we have to wait a good 20 mins before the picture comes back, it is not a problem with the HDMI on the tv as other things work fine through it.
We had an engineer come out and he did nothing except plug the same cable into HDMI 2 socket on the tv but we still get the same problem.

In the last 2 weeks i have now been getting a similar problem on the upstairs tv, i'll be watching tv and suddenly the screen goes black and it says no input signal and then it will come back after a few seconds, i have tried the same tests with other hdmi devices and i have no problems.

Is there some kind of known issue with the samsung V+ box that virgin aren't telling me?

Ok maybe, but my Hanspree has started doing it on the second box, would be a bit of a coincidence if both were probelms with the tv and not the V+ box, there is nothing wrong with the tv's so we're not getting the service we are paying for
