HDMI to Component

I have an older Panasonic Plasma display panel and tuner box with only a component input and no HDMI. If I upgraded to TIVO what would I need to get to convert the HDMI to Component - is there a simple (cheepish) lead that does this now or am I still looking at something like the HDFury?

Cheers

TZ

Re: HDMI to Component

You'd have to get an HDfury (or similar). There are no leads that do the job on their own.

Just to let you know, some programs on demand may not work due to licence issues (HDMI to HDMI will be required).

Re: HDMI to Component

The only way to do this is to use an HDFury.

I got an HDFury 3 for my mum as her Panasonic plasma panel on has component input and it has work flawlessly.

You don't need to worry about it not working with any HDCP protected content as it performs all the handshaking and decryption, etc.

Yeah, the HDfury does the 'handshaking'. What your saying is when you use Component to Component on the SA V+, which is when it blocks HD VoD.
