Simple. It's more expensive (for me anyway).

But you are forgetting 2 things and thats some people cannot have Sky TV because of where they live and also Sky TV is dearer then Virgin's TV package as well so its not as simple as you think.

I take your point Den on being able to receive Sky,but I would also quote on your second point "you get what you pay for",I for one am prepared to pay the extra to get Sky Atlantic HD and the five Sky Sports in HD,I would also say I would love to ditch Sky all together due to what they stand for but unfortunately my viewing preferences are not fully catered for at Virgin.

Falling into the first category I'm sure you will understand the frustration of those who are quite willing to pay more for Sky Atlantic, whether on Sky or on VM, but because they cannot get Sky are having to put up with having their viewing preferences not catered for by their provider.

Therefore I'll continue to add my 'modest demands' for Sky Atlantic on whatever platform allows me to do so until VM get off their arses and get it.

The price has to be right though, otherwise VM should just roll over and pay what ever price another channel operator demands.

I'm sure most don't want further price increases for a niche channel like Atlantic.

Virgin please don't waste money on Sky Atlantic, there's plenty of other HD channels with far superior programming on. Just my 2p's worth....

And this has to be balanced against those who don't want to pay more, and also those who are up in arms every time there is a hint of a tariff increase....

Apologies! My retaliation was childish.
As for my post, I still think there's better quality channels Virgin could get other than Sky Atlantic. IMHO History HD, Crime, ITV2,3 etc.

Re: Sky Atlantic HD coming to virgin media ?

I think the fact remains that we would all like some more channels on Virgin but until Virgin put 2+2 together and make 4 we are not going to get them at the present time.
