Re: sky sports red button
Nice one nn012 thanks for the trouble you went to...appreciated.
So this letter is going out to VM customers comfirming Football First but VM Customer care on Twitter et al can't confirm if we're getting Football First.. this is EXACTLY why some of us get SO frustrated with VM!!!!
They are a great company, in time i believe will be way ahead of the field when it comes to TV but their PR is a joke!

Re: sky sports red button
Communication is their biggest weakness by far but they do have many great strengths as well.

Re: sky sports red button
I also got the leaflet after i gave up taking sky sports its obviously targetted at those that do not take the sky sports package,i got well cheesed off after Red Button cricket appeared on sky a couple of months ago,but was not made available to VMs sky sports subscribers,i now stream all my cricket for free off the web,and even get the sky sports commentary.LOL
However if Red Button ever does get sorted out i may be willing to shell out £22.50 a month again,if not its their loss not mine.
VMs communication is worse then dire in my view.

Re: sky sports red button
Do you guys think it will work for La Liga games too at the end of the season when they sometimes put Real Madrid or Barcelona on red button?

Re: sky sports red button
I just ordered a standard Virgin Media box so I can get red button for the football season (I have Tivo right now) and they said on the phone it would be free as I'm on the XL package. I'm having it installed on the same TV as I don't have 2 TV's.
I wondered if this will normally enter me into a new contract or is adding a box not part of the contract service?
Please help as I might have to cancel as I move out in July.

It will normally tie you in to a new 12 month contract? But you should be able to move the services to the new property (if cabled)

Thanks.
Well even if I don't I will only have to pay a few months cancellation fee right?
But I'm having the V HD box installed on the same TV as my Tivo box, would there be a problem with that? or will the engineer be ok with it?
It will be good because when I move into a bigger house (I live in a bed-sit right now) I can put it in my bedroom or kitchen the other box (provided I move into a cable area which I've had problems with in the past)

So long as your TV has two HDMI sockets you'll be fine , assuming you want HD on both boxes, if not you could connect one via start.

Only 1 HD socket but it's possible to disconnect 1 when I'm not using it.

Or plug an adaptor in what gives you more than one HDMI.
Something like this http://www.tvcables.co.uk/cgi-bin/tv...-hdmi-2x1.html
There's probably cheaper that's just first I found.

Re: sky sports red button
The guy on the phone was helpful and gave me free installation. BTW he said they defiantly got the red button for the football season, they got told it.
I went through to retention's which probably helped (not the foreign-based call centers)

Yes it is I have swapped the Tivo and the V+ boxes over and they are in different rooms. So it is possible to do and easy as well.

Re: sky sports red button
Just be aware that you'll have to cover the IR receiver on the box you're not watching as they both respond to most of the same remote codes.
