Re: TIVO with SCART
Oh I see - you've got nothing at all on pin 8. I thought you just meant it wasn't signalling widescreen correctly.
Got a voltmeter handy?

Re: TIVO with SCART
Check the voltage on pin 8 on the back of the box. Put the negative probe on the SCART housing.

Re: TIVO with SCART
I will try it when I can uncover the voltmeter from where it's hiding.

I wasn't suggesting it would.
Though sometimes it does - ever heard the term "cleared whilst locating"?

Re: TIVO with SCART
Why is rgb important? Can't most tvs work both ways?

Re: TIVO with SCART
RGB is a much better picture than composite.

If it was a choice of connections for a HDTV (which in this thread it is not) surely HDMI would be the best picture!

Of course, but this thread is about connecting to an SDTV, in which case RGB is the best picture option.

I did not make myself clear, I know this thread is about SDTV and Scart, all I am saying is if your TV has a HDMI connection it would be criminal to connect your TiVo by scart that's all

Re: TIVO with SCART
My Sony TV reports the input as RGB but
1)Doesn't auto switch to scart input and out again when TIVO goes from/to standby
2)Formatting is really odd - get 14:9 if I leave TV in auto, 16:9 if TV in wide, some programmes will switch to 4:3 but most won't.

So you are actually getting an RGB picture on your TV, mines a Sony too but no RGB.
