So no suggested sexual motive then, good. I'm glad people will hopefully pay more attention to the few facts that we do know about what happened from now on.
No point in trying to use pseudo-educated and eloquent language to hide the fact that we probably know less than 10% of what really happened.

Nor should we forget that proceedings are active, a trial is due, and we are bound by the same laws as the media when it comes to discussing details of the case pre-trial. Despite the fact he has admitted the killing

That's exactly the truth too. From searching the internet, everything from yahoo answers to the endless facebook discussions, the theories are the same - *cough* she refused his advances and he lost it *cough*.
But the reality is that there could be any number of plots/scenarios, ranging from the downright obvious, to the mind bogglingly complex, that culminated with the murder of Joanna Yeates. We can only wait and see what the trial dredges up, I just hope we get to hear the real version of events rather than a mere fantasy articulately engineered to yield the lesser manslaughter charge.

Hopefully but doubtful. His chances of persuading a jury it was an accident took a huge blow with him hiding the body and other actions after the event.

If I were the betting type, I'd wager that you're quite correct. As unfortunate as that is for the enquiring minds among us.

Some slappage for the Mirror and the Sun might be in the pipeline.

The Sun and Daily Mirror are facing contempt of court proceedings over the way they reported the hunt for the killer of Jo Yeates last December.

Jo Yeates' landlord settles libel case out of court
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-14339807
Quote:
Mr Jefferies was not at the High Court in London to hear about the settlement with the Sun, the Daily Mirror, the Sunday Mirror, the Daily Mail, the Daily Record, the Daily Express, the Daily Star and the Scotsman.
However, his lawyer Louis Charalambous said his client was "satisfied" with the outcome.
"Christopher Jefferies is the latest victim of the regular witch-hunts and character assassinations conducted by the worst elements of the British tabloid media," he said.

This, along with some of the shameless insinuations directed at the McCann family when Madeline went missing, serves to further underline the point that freedom of speech is subservient to an individual's right not to have their good name dragged through the mud.
This particular case highlights the media's recent trend towards pushing the boundaries of acceptable commentary and reporting while an unsolved case is under investigation. Had this individual eventually been sent to trial, he might have argued his right to a fair trial had been compromised by some of what was said about him.
Justice is more important than selling papers, and I am reluctantly coming round to the view that media regulation backed up by criminal law is the only way we can now ensure this.

You not been paying attention lately, the man is a busted flush, no politician will be aligning themselves with him anytime soon and his entire newspaper group is toxic, when he has to sell the lot we must make sure the government never allows one man to much influence over our press again.

I have been keeping up, At this moment in time the man is STILL in charge of the biggest media group in the UK is he not ?.
His papers including the likes of the Sun and his News Channel Sky news can still control what news is published. Politicians will be terrified of him printing all of the stuff they have saved for such a day.
