Re: Building New Computer
I think I'd want a branded PSU rather than own brand. Your spending a fair bit on the other kit so I'd want the PSU to mathc up with that. Dunno what sort of warranty they offer for it?
Do they do an OEM version of the 2500 CPU. No need for the retail version that included a CPU cooler if you are going to use an enhanced one.
Performance wise the Hard Disk will be the bottleneck. It's not that the Samsung drive is bad, just that any standard type drive has a limit. Use the Samsun for main storage needs, but consider if you can stretch to a SSD disk as well for the OS and other key programs.
You don't mention an OS anywhere. I presume you are resuing one.

Re: Building New Computer
I would go for a brand PSU.
Also I see you getting triple channel memory the board is dual channel memory.
The hard drive you are getting is Sata 2 3.0Gb/s maybe look at a Sata 3 6.0Gb/s or SSD like Rob said. The board does take the Sata 3 (6.0Gb/s)
I just upgraded and got this memory http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/p...L9D-8GBRL.html - £59.99 for 8GB

One thing to be aware of is a retail Intel CPU has a 3 year warranty but a OEM Intel CPU has a 1 year warranty.

Re: Building New Computer
The ram need's to be changed to some that is a maximum of 1.5v not 1.6-1.65v as it will damage the memory controller in the chip if you run ram above 1.5v.
Other than that it's just what has been mentioned about the power supply, and also the hdd as the cheap no brand psu's can be dodgy from time to time and the hdd will bottleneck the chip, but it will be fine if you cannot get the extra cash to get a ssd instead.

Re: Building New Computer
novatech is pretty good because they pretty much help you if u have problems with the products so its pretty much long time warrantry. My friends never had any problems with novatech products.
Also the motherboard supports DDR3 so it shouldnt matter if its dual/triple channel memory.
Why is the HDD bottlenecked?? I don't understand. It runs at 7200RPM?

Re: Building New Computer
The bottleneck is purely because of the speed at which any HDD can read or write data. Windows Vista / 7 performance ratings will show the drive as being a limiting factor. It's not about the RPM of the drive, indeed the Samsungs have been amongst the top for their throughput.
Think of it this way, your CPU can chomp through loads of stuff, so can the GPU and you have RAM waiting to be filled. But when you start up that program the HDD can only give out so much information at a time, thus leaving the other components perhaps wasted until the data is loaded into the RAM. SDDs can release that stuff a lot faster, and thus reduce the load up times you see for your programs.
