Old SA box restarting itself

Hi,
I have an old Scientific Atlanta (ex-Telewest) box upstairs and it has been fine for years. However, over the last two weeks or so, it has taken to constantly restarting itself. You can be watching a programme and it will suddenly go off and cycle through the AP:xx and PL:xx numbers before showing the programme again. Five minutes later it does it all again!

Occasionally it does appear to stick on PL:03 and one a couple of occasions it has shown an Er:02 code but then just restarted itself again!

Is there anything I can do to it or does it need an engineer? Or is it on it's last legs and need to go to Set Top Box heaven?

Many thanks for your help!

Regards,
Neil

Set top box heaven. Give CS a call for your lovely new shiny replacement box.

Definitely time for a replacement. And when it happened to me it was a shiny new Samsung

Re: Old SA box restarting itself

Thanks for the replies - you confirmed my thoughts!

I contacted VM and they are coming tonight to replace my box - whether it is a shiny new one or a "new" refurbished one remains to be seen - but as long as it works I'll be happy!

Thanks again.
Neil
