Re: Why TiVo

I've had TiVo over a week and, barring bbc news, I've never watched anything live. At any time of day, any day of week there is something to watch. Series links, wish lists, on demand, suggestions, one-off recordings, youtube - its absolutely stupendous.

Re: Why TiVo

There is quiet a few good things about the TiVo 1 is the Recording Hiccups, If someone has deleted one of your recordings thinking you have watched it you can get your recording back, Another is that you can access your TiVo box online from anywhere in the world just by logging into your VM account on thier website and set your recordings, But you can also access YouTube, Ebay, News, Weather, There is a couple of games on thier also, You can record upto 276 Hours Standard TV or 59 Hours HD where as with the V+ You couldnt, You also get the option to have your V+ moved from downstairs into a bedroom / kitchen free of charge. There is alot of good things about the TiVo but if your unsure, Call virgin media and get them to send you a TiVo booklet out, Or if you see an Engineer out and about as them for one, And have a good read through it.

That's exactly the TV viewing experience I've been having for the past 2 years with my V+ box. I only watch football and boxing when it's actually being televised, everything else is recorded and watched when I want.

Sorry Virgins track record on coming soon is NOT great. Still I stick with them ( Cable Tel - NTL now Virgin) As a company I have no problem but i would buy (or is that rent) on what is in the market place not coming soon. However I doubt its the future ( sorry can`t resist this. Wasn`t 3.5" floppy the laser disk, Mono rail fax machines{remember them on tomorrow world} & even the V+ all also the future)

My friend who has TIVO says suggestions have helped him find shows and channels he didn't know , he called them at first but now says the box has learnt his likes/dislikes and helped him find some gems.
