Yes, this is a bit worrying for some, macs are very popular among particle physicists for their native use of gnu compilers yet being easier and having better office software than linux.

It says it's got '250 new features', which indeed sounds like not much change at all...
Most likely just some new eye candy to keep the fanboys happy.

According to a leaked screenshot, there is a “Restart to Safari” option on Lion’s user lock screen which gives a user without login credentials the ability to boot into Safari only while keeping all other system resources locked away. This is very similar to the behavior of Google’s Chromebook except with the added benefit of a full-blown Mac notebook. Apple users will be able to have their cloud and eat it too, unlike with Chrome OS.

Why not just have a switch to guest account button?

Because you might want to restrict the apps they have access to without wishing to spend time specifying what's allowed and what's not via system preferences.

Re: Mac OS X Lion
I am on Virginmedia adsl and I only get 3meg where I live So I won't be downloading a 4gig file for the upgrdade.
There are some broadband packages that only have a low monthly bandwidth, if they download the 4gig file that could be their monthly limit gone unless they pay extra for the rest of the month.
What about those that don't have an internet connection at all, there must be some around.

You will not need to pay for it again, infact you can download it to any Mac as long as your logged into your iTunes account. There's 3 Macs in my household and it'll only cost me £29.99 for all 3...
OS X Lion should be on the app store at 05:30 today (Wednesday), theres a migration assistant ready for download in the software updates. Thats if you dont want to lose any of your files, if your doing a clean install dont bother downloading it...

It's 8:30am Eastern Time (USA), I believe that equates to 05:30pm UK time.

Re: Mac OS X Lion
i have upgraded, but the installer for it has disappeared, and I was going to make a installer Bootable USB Drive.
---------- Post added at 16:45 ---------- Previous post was at 16:21 ----------
Just spoke to apple, who were very helpful, what the installer does is creates a recovery partition on your HDD, and you can access this on startup by holding down CMD and R together to then access your utilities and Re install the OS
