This old argument eh,
Well with sky your first box is free, with a 12 month warranty so no issue for 12 months. After that they say you need to pay £60 for a warranty replacement.
I say either threaten to leave, free box! or pay £49.99 for a new "exsisting customer replacemnt box"
So a 1tb tivo is £99, your first sky box is free then assuming it breaks after 12 months get another for £49.99 and if that breaks after 12 months get another £49.99 saving 1p over 3 yearS of having a tivo lol.
The sell it on ebay for £35 saving £35.01p over a tivo lol,

Don't you also have to pay Sky the HD tax for 12 months @ £10.25pm to get any HD box deals? So add £123 per year to that.

Yes the tivo apps are easy to use and they are downloaded onto your tivo box using a internet connection so you don't have to install anything, all you have to do is have a tivo app username and password in which you log into on the Virgin online site to activate the apps that need activating then you go onto your tivo and log in using the same username and password.

If you want skymovies and sports in HD you need to pay VM the HD tax @ £7 a month per box so add atleast £84 per box.
From September skys £10.25 is per account no matter how many boxes you have.

You can ask,
I will say I heard about 3 months ago 1tb stock was to be reduced and replaced with a multiroom 2tb box.
Now it seems the 1tb box is £49.99 for exsisting customers or £149 for new
It was £249 for everyone. so lets wait and see eh. I mean if you wanted to reduced stock slashing the price is a good way to go, especially if you keep a nextgen box quiet till you have shifted the older box. The none recordable SkyHD box turned out ot be a reality, all these things are part of the same rumor

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Second core activation on the way? See twitter post below from Tivo Margret Schmidt at https://twitter.com/#!/tivodesign
@Jtalbert @tivodesign yes, what's the status on the second core? The UI is far too slow in a world of iPads.

@shanselman @Jtalbert The second core is coming, but I can't comment on timing. Making it faster is a focus for us.
