Deleting files on a Standard account in Windows 7 requires an admin password?

Hey guys, my sister has bought my niece a laptop for her birthday. i have set her up as a standard account to stop unwanted software installs etc, but when you delete a shortcut for example it requires an admin password? Is there a way to overcome this?

You need to add her the ownership of the files within her users directory.

Oh ok, so im guessing any files that she creates, she wont require my admin password. (even though its her laptop, I still need to keep an eye on things).

Correct.. A shortcut will be from software that the admin has installed hence the need for the password..
