Upgrading Micro SD card in phone
I have a HTC Desire S with an 8GB Micro SD card, I want to put in a 16 or 32GB Micro Sd card into it.
Now is is just a case of taking the old one out, copy the contents onto the new card and put it back into the PC?
What is the best class to put it in, I've seen a class 10 16GB but think it best to put a 32GB.
Also were is the best/cheapest place to get it from.

Re: Upgrading Micro SD card in phone
Well I've got all mine from play.com - as for class. The higher the number in theory the higher the speed.

Re: Upgrading Micro SD card in phone
All I can say is that is all I did (copy evertthing over form one card to the other) when I had my Desire and it worked fine.
I was copying from a 4 to an 8 - but I don't see if makes any odds if it's a 32.
If I'm wrong I expect someone will be along to correct me

Re: Upgrading Micro SD card in phone
Do take care that the device can actually access all the memory you put in. Does the manual detail any limits?

The HTC site said up to 32GB.
I only hope that it is just a case of copying the data onto the new 32GB card (when I buy it) and then drop into the phone, and that I will not need to reinstall any apps (64+ is a lot to redownload)

Depends where the apps were installed - by default I think the HTC installs on phone memory. There are plenty of apps out there which allow you to copy apps to a SD after which it *should* just be a case of copying data & moving the SD

Re: Upgrading Micro SD card in phone
Ah good - one thing about "class" requirement - some cards only just meet the class requirements, while others can be considerably better than the minimum, making the older "100x/133x" style classifications often more useful than "class" - some cards will list both.
