Angry Re: Virgin media price increase

The January increase was down to the VAT increase. The April increase was a price hike and so will the August one be too.

Assuming it hits everyone across the range Section 5 of the contract can be used to terminate the phone service...

The difficulty is for TV M+ users who have to have a phone line to get this service.

Must admit with the dire TV at the moment I am seriously considering cutting my losses, reverting to the free TV package and getting Broadband only.

SKY is looking more attractive as a prospect, daily... but their price hike is normally October...

Better use of the word as Sky's prices usually rise by at least £1 every year.

Hardly Hyperbole - FACT- my bill went up in April £2 (4%)

FACT: I've not had a pay increase in 9 years. My mobile bill has DECREASED year on year so why does Virgin Media need to increase its prices, when mobile operators are giving better value year on year for less?

THE ANSWER is true competition in that sector...

But inflation is 4%..... not a 'hike' at all, just keeping costs in line.

I've had a pay rise every year for the last 9 years (not sure what that has to do with anything)

Right to cancel the service affected, not all of them.

Bit unfair, the Phoneline got to admit is poor value for money but the broadband is top notch..

Only question I have is if these people signed up with Broadband and Phone on the one contract as this included a discount what happens if they cancel just the phone line because of a price increase?

I pay £37 for phone and BB after I cancel I will also drop my BB to 10Mb and pay £21ish.

But my phone bill will drop from and average of £50 to around £20 like it used to be on talktalk. VM's phone is day light robbery.

That would be a discussion you would have to have at the time.

Legally, Virgin would expect you to continue to pay for Broadband at the appropriate standalone rate
