I think the quality of the BBC iPlayer is excellent, especially when you turn HD on. Can't tell the difference between it and the one on the V+

Has anyone noticed automatic padding on Suggestions? My box is recording So You Think You Can Dance as a suggestion still even though the episode has ended

When you put it like that, it does seem like a stupid idea. But to be honest, with the larger HDD, I've been a little lax in catching up on my recordings. I've got multiple episodes of several series links to watch, so I can't see how I'll have enough time to watch other stuff. Also, I seem to find out when new worthwhile series are coming (Cable Forum is a great source of info! ). But you make a good point, so maybe I'll keep thumbing for a couple of weeks, turn suggestions back on, and see how it goes

I understand what you mean in regards to this but my suggestions have been on since the time that I got a free box I'am now watching programs that I would never thought about watching before

I've either read it on this forum or another "TiVo automatically adds ten minutes of padding to all suggestions". This padding is subject to clipping but none of your planned recordings are subject to clipping due to a suggestion. The suggestion will be dropped if there is a clash.

I agree devilincarnate. Suggestions is a very good feature. It's a bit like catch up really where you can find something you fancy watching at that moment in time or try viewing something new.

All of these were recorded as suggestions before I started to watch them I can not remember what I thumbed up to get these to be recorded though

My eldest son have given Live football the thumbs up and it has recorded Match of the day/2 and also some live football as well. So I would not see it been a problem

Right just never seen anyone actually say it had suggested sport to them , however I suppose if your an avid sports fan it's common sense it would.
