Re: do you use wired or wireless to connect to router?

Wired is my preferred method!! 2 servers, 2 NAS's, 1 desktop and the Xbox are all wired.

2 laptops and Wii are wireless as are our 2 blackberries, daughters desktop is wireless at the moment, but as I have now run ethernet up into the loft I can put a switch up there and run ethernet to each of the bedrooms!!!

Re: do you use wired or wireless to connect to router?

Insufficient options, I'm afraid. I only use wired but the family when they visit - the girls use wireless for their laptops, the boy goes wired.

The Airport Extreme is very good both 2.4 & 5 GHz.

Re: do you use wired or wireless to connect to router?

Mixed.

2 PC's, server and CCTV are wired
3 iPhone/pods, xbox, ps3 and squeezebox are wireless.

Asus RT-N16 handles all of them perfectly, but the superhub couldnt provide a strong enough signal when it was working to get more than 100kbps on the xbox/ps3 even testing on all channels and settings.

Similar here as well, mixed lot. PC's, Xbox, WHServer and printer all gigabit wired.
Only BBerry's and Laptop on wireless.

@Skie, what firmware are you running on the N16? I'm only asking as I use the same router with TomatoVPN.

Same, Tomato USB VPN. v 1.28 Used to use Tomato on my WRTG54 and couldn't live without it (but the old girl couldn't live with a 50 meg connection).

Re: do you use wired or wireless to connect to router?

Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 wired.
Laptop, iPhone 4 and HTC Desire wireless.

I believe that the wired option is best for online gaming with games consoles.

Re: do you use wired or wireless to connect to router?

Desktop PC, 1 x Squeezebox receiver, PS3, NAS, CCTV and Slingbox are all wired. Wii, Laptop, 1 x Squeezebox receiver and Squeezebox controller all wireless.

Personally, give me wires any day of the week as long as it's neat and tidy - all mine cable back to the loft where the router, switch etc all sit out of sight. Get a good wireless signal with it up there too.

My phone doesn't do wireless because it's so old, and I don't have any of those new fangled iThings, maybe one day!

Except when it requires getting permission from the council to dig up several kilometres of road and public park.
