What the heck is going on?
So on Tuesday night, my internet drops out for around two hours... this is a rare occurance, i've been a happy VM customer for a lot of years now and this appears to be my first major problem.
Just to give you all an indication, this happened on tuesday night as stated, it happened wednesday for around 5 minutes, and it's happening now believe it or not, even though im currently able to post.
The first time i checked the router, and again yesterday i was receiving access denied. In the connection tab in the router dash, i received this
Acquire Downstream Channel Aquiring
Connectivity State OK Sync (or words to that effect
Boot State
Configuration File
Security Disabled
All downstream channels were blank, as were upload and there was no config file currently sent to the modem. This happened for two hours until it magically came back and worked as normal.
Now, this happened again around 45 minutes ago, until it actually managed to aquire ONE downstream channel... the lights on my hub are usually purple, but at this moment they are green, and the power levels are obviously insane at close to 52dBmV. Power levels have been fine prior to this (and when the connection was working properly.
Heres a copy of my log since the error began tonight

Very odd indeed!! Wierd how its aquired ONE downstream channel [as opposed to three] and i can actually "use" the net...

Re: What the heck is going on?
To acquire anything, it MUST acquire a primary downstream channel. That is the listener of first resort and then a sequence of interactions with the CMTS takes place leading to the acquisition of a bonded channel group.
If that doesn't happen but everything else is "alright" you can function on the primary channel alone.
Whatever, though, the situation is unacceptable and you should call it in on 0800 0520431.

Function indeed in the lightest possible meaning of the word, lol!
I wonder what the deal is with the access denied messages? Anyway i thought i'd see what people here thought before i phoned it in. I'll get onto VM first thing in the morning

No they will be from the uBR.
The is something not right especially if it keeps dropping to one downstream so call up in the morning as soon after 0800 unless you want to speak to offshore now.
