Re: VM to expand in Derry

Aren't VM already in Derry?

Although with analogue only services which will be switched off in order to allow the digital services.

Re: VM to expand in Derry

Yes, some of the upgrades, such as Southampton, are a MATV -> CATV overbuild, this one is a CATV upgrade to 1GHz I believe.

Mr Steev?

Virgin Media is bringing its amazing fibre optic network to Ashford, Staines, Southampton and Derry.

Re: VM to expand in Derry

Posts deleted, infractions issued for arguing a moderator decision in public.

People, there is far too much of this going on at present. The CF team has made this abundantly clear on many occasions, if you have issues with our running of this board then take it up with us via PM. *DO NOT* start posting your grievances in the thread, you *WILL* come off worse.

There will be no more discussion of the correct title for Derry/Londonderry in this thread. It is off topic. End of discussion.

Re: VM to expand in Derry

Hold on VM have 4.8 million customers in NI? How come when the figure for VM TV base is used is is usually 4.5 million? Do they not include NI in these figures?

Re: VM to expand in Derry

That would be me getting my clauses back to front - I've amended the CF News article.

Re: VM to expand in Derry

just a few questions

is there a "map" of the uk to show where vm cables are laid...to see where they can provide bb?

are there any plans to further increase the fibre optic coverage??

if so where?

only ask cos i know lots of people that i work with that dont have cable in their town...namely Carrickfergus...and they are always bemoaning the fact that the network never got that far

Re: VM to expand in Derry

From what I know they would not be laying cable out to Carrick, they seem to be concentrating on uncabled areas where the main fibre has already been laid. Wouldn't let them hold their breath about getting cable in Carrick.

For obvious security reasons we do not make the network plans available to the general public.

THIS thread may be of interest to you.
