Record from the red button

It would be good if the V+ could record things being shown on the red button, like Radio 1's Big Weekend. It would make life so much easier as I keep missing things on there. Are there any plans to do this in the future?

Re: Record from the red button

Only way to do it at the moment is to record from the VCR socket onto my DVD recorder, a right pain. I mentioned in another thread a few weeks ago that when BBCi first covered Wimbledon, NTL put the four streams onto seperate channels (996 - 999).

With the Olympics coming up next year there will no doubt be a massive amount on Red Button. A facility to record these events, a lot of which will take place while most people are at work, would be very useful.

Re: Record from the red button

Yeah, I remember that, similar to how it is on Freeview now. Hopefully they can introduce it on the TiVo or V+ once red button is given to TiVo. It would be ideal. I don't have a DVD recorder only a VCR and no blank tapes, so can't even do that haha

Totally agree 100%. It would be an amazing facility if Virgin could add it. I tried to watch all the boxing during the Olympics and Commonwealth Games on the BBC however their coverage was almost all on the Red Button facility, whilst I was at work.

Re: Record from the red button

I would have thought that all that is required is for VM to allocate channel numbers to the streams and to use the EPG. They could then be used in the same way as the Freeview red button streams.
