Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
There are iPhone apps to emulate the TiVo remote but they seem to need the ip address of the TiVo.
Do these work with the Virgin TiVo? If so, how do I find my ip address?
Thanks

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
No they don't work with the Virgin TiVo
In the US, to get an internet connection, TiVo has to be connect to your home router, so you can connect your device to the same network and talk to it
Virgin TiVo has it's own direct connection to the net, so no communication is currently possible

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
I should check that you have got the right TiVo
I booked my TiVo on when I got my email first they could not install it until April 28 on the 27 vm rang and said the engineer was I'll we can not install until 12 may which they did
But I was just look at the setting can record 59hrs of HD check the box it came with 500mb version but of course my online bill says 1tb
I think I am going to be on the phone a lot tomorrow

Have you currently got V+? Because TiVo doesn't have any more on demand content than the V+, unless you count You Tube.

Fair point! I tend to forget about iPlayer because I try to avoid using it as the picture quality has always been horrendous whenever I've watched anything on it.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
Yeah I would prefer the VOD iPlayer over the web iPlayer as the VOD iPlayer has broadcast quality.

My box was indicating problems some some features such as recording about 15 mins ago but it now is showing no problems.
Perhaps try again.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2
TiVO installed yesterday, loving it so far. Not noticing the picture quality issues reported by some and loving the it so far. Seems pretty quick and intuitive to me, even though the installer said this was only his third TiVO install, he even set up the remote for the TV. Shame there are no compatible codes with my Yamaha AV Amp. Volume would be good.
Anyway looking good lets see what recommendations start rolling in. Well done VM for uping the game in the STB stakes.
