I would like to know how they speak foreign as this was around before the main English Language I wonder if most people actually looked in to what we spoke before English?

People who are british and live in england, will usually speak english, a language from another country is foreign, whether we use that term detrimentally or not it is factually correct.
---------- Post added at 17:20 ---------- Previous post was at 17:18 ----------
p.s. reverting back to a language spoke before english is a backwards step is it not?

The people appearing on Alba probably don't live in England though.

But i do, the entire thing was sort of tounge in cheek, as you might be able to tell from my user name i am indeed cut from the tartan cloth, but people on here have such high horses to jump on... but seriously whilst we are at it, an aspiring young energetic newly re-born nation wanting to go out there to impress the world and stand on it's own 2 feet isn't going to get very far trying to talk to people in gaelic, they don't do it in Ireland even though they hate (sort of) the English. Being able to speak English (and maybe mandarin) is one of the greatest gifts your parents could ever give you and spending loads of money trying to retrospectivly teach the entire nation how to speak an awquard and forgotten language is just stuborn and resentful.

I think it's a cultural agenda rather than an nationalist one that strives to keep Gaelic alive. Heritage is important.
I doubt very much if any business would expect a speaker of solely gaelic to represent them negotiations in the UK, nevermind the rest of the world. Postman Pat has never looked back since he learned the gaelic.
