Noob changing IP address help?
I'd like to try to change my IP address, and the set up I have is a main PC which is connected to a VirginMedia (Netgear) 'router'.
I also have 2 laptops connected wirelessly.
I've logged into the router, and here on the cable forum it says something about changing the Mac address? but being a noob not sure how, and don't want to mess up my connection.
Here is a shot of the 'mac' section. which bit should i be changing?

Re: Noob changing IP address help?
You can't change your VM IP address.
Also why do you want to change it?

You should be able to if you change the mac address.

Probably because he's been annoying somebody on a forum and wants to go back and annoy them some more

It is not possible to change the MAC address on the Superhub and if you actually managed to do so then you would lose your connecyion and also be in breach of the Terms and Conditions of his contract.

i think he meant change the mac address of the device connected to the modem, i.e. plus your pc in direct instead of using a modem

Re: Noob changing IP address help?
It's for the purpose of printing coupons.
I just wondered if i had any way of doing this, as i've tried unplugging the power to the router overnight (didn't work), and I tried typing 'ipconfig /release' into start>run, but it just said "The requested operation requires elevation".? (these are just suggestions I found online).

It does not work like that with the hubs.
Requires elevation sounds like they are not logged in as the administrator.

I suspect he has already printed one set of vouchers, and the company offering them is limiting them to one set per IP...
