Re: Is this slow?
Ok this is interesting. So the video shows unreasonably slow performance. Can someone with fast menus please post some examples, preferably the undelete actions.
It could be I have a faulty box after all.

Yes it could, but for me the problem is slightly different, my menus are not sluggish it's the red circle that keeps appearing for longer and more often than it did after the first week.
How often do you see the red circle? between each sluggish menu or only when performing a function like deleting or setting a series link?

I get red circle randomly it seems, but perhaps it's related to operations. I would say I get it infrequently, but several times an evening.

I have 13 pages of deleted shows. Any suggestion on how to delete this much stuff quickly?

No Sorry I think that you have to do them 1 by 1. Unless anyone can shed any more light in how to do this?

There is no "Empty this folder" so one by one. It slightly faster to use the 'Clear' button from the list.

Face palm. If I keep TiVo, I hope this makes it into the fix list! Ok, here I go...

Make sure you use the clear button!
Let me point out that I don't think we will ever actually have to do this but it's a good way of ruling out a full drive as being the problem.

Re: Is this slow?
There should be no need to empty the deleted items folder. TiVo automatically does this when it needs to.
Also that is why there is no delete all option for the folder.

So I shouldn't bother deleting the 13 pages of deleted to see if my slow issues are attributed to actual disk space usage?
On the flip side, what if you wanted to delete all the shows, because you didn't want others in the house to see what you've been watching? Specially that stuff on 484 everyone seems keen to get seizures over!

Re: Is this slow?
Well I tried deleting all undeleted anyway. Then deleted some shows and tested undeleting them again. Looks slightly faster in some instances I think.
Would really appreciate feedback or similar vids from others to show what the performance is like for others.

As I say in my original post, what's the point of having 1TB if the box becomes very slow when it's around 25% full?
